Lontong Goreng




Fried Lontong (rice cakes).It's usually eaten during breakfast but we malays will eat it anytime.. Alter the chilli for those who are not adventurous...hehe

Ingredients

Some cooked lontong/rice cakes(cubed)
1/2 kg minced beef,fried slowly over a dry wok till cooked
2 eggs
3tbsp chilli sauce
1tbsp oyster sauce
2tbsp dark soya sauce

*to be grounded*
15 or more dried chillies,soaked to soften
2 onions
6 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup of dried shrimps,soaked to soften
1 tbsp belacan / shrimp paste

*garnish*
some spring onions
a huge fistful of fried shallots
sliced cool cucumbers
sliced red/green chillies

Method

Heat enuff oil in yr wok. Saute the ground ingredients till fragrant.Add the 3 sauces and salt to taste. SprinkLe a tsp of sugar if desired. Throw in the cooked minced beef,coating well with the sauce. Add the cubed lontong,mix well. Beat in the egss, and stir. Texture of the dish should be a little moist but crumbly. Fry nicely and sprinkle in the fried shallots and spring onions.
Serve with the cucumber and chillies and dip into chilli sauce.
